REAL EXPERIENCE, PERSONAL ADVICE

Advice informed by airline flying, simulator training and recruitment

My perspective comes from more than 15 years in aviation and over 15,000 flying hours across different types of airline operation. I currently fly the Boeing 777 and work as a simulator training instructor. I also have previous experience as a recruitment officer for a major airline.

That combination helps me explain the realities of becoming an airline pilot, what aspiring pilots may want to consider before committing to training, and how applicants can present their experience through a professional pilot CV. Every consultation is a live, confidential one-to-one conversation, with time for your own questions.

MY BACKGROUND

From the flight deck to your next step.

Flying can be one of the most rewarding careers in the world, offering opportunities to travel internationally, experience different cultures and build a career unlike almost any other. However, becoming an airline pilot and building a successful career isn't always straightforward.

Aviation is my passion. It's my work, my hobby and what I love. With over 15 years of aviation experience and more than 15,000 flying hours, I've experienced the realities of airline life across budget, long-haul, holiday and cargo operations. I can share an honest perspective on the rewards, challenges and practical realities of the profession.

My combination of operational flying, pilot training and airline recruitment experience gives me a practical understanding of what airlines look for, how pilots are trained and assessed, and what it takes to build a successful aviation career. I've seen how even a seemingly minor mistake can make the difference between securing that first airline job and missing out on an opportunity. The same attention to detail matters as your career progresses.

Whether you're considering becoming a pilot yourself or you're a parent whose child dreams of flying, I can help you work out where to start. My own parents faced the same questions when I began, and I regularly speak with parents who want the best advice for their children. From choosing a training route and preparing for your first airline job to progressing an established career, I offer straightforward, personal guidance based on real-world experience.

My advice is 100% independent. I'm not linked to any flight schools or training centres, and I don't receive commissions or incentives for recommending them. Naturally, every flight school will tell you why you should train with them, but everyone's circumstances are different. What suits one student may not suit another. That's where I can help: we'll discuss your individual requirements and explore the options that may be right for you.

I can also help passengers who have questions about aviation or feel anxious about flying. Fear of flying is a complex and very personal issue: what worries one person may not worry another. A private, one-to-one conversation with an experienced airline pilot can help you better understand flying, ask the questions that matter to you and feel more informed before your next flight.
